How This Works
Electrical rewire costs depend on property size (number of circuits and sockets), access (floor types, plaster quality), and scope. Full rewires include new consumer unit, all cabling, sockets, switches and light fittings. The job must be signed off by a Part P registered electrician. Building Control notification is required for full rewires.
Signs your home may need rewiring: old rubber or fabric-covered wiring (pre-1970s), round-pin sockets, old-style fuse box with ceramic fuses, lights flickering, frequent tripping of circuits, burning smell from sockets, or an Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) rating the installation as C2 (potentially dangerous) or C1 (dangerous). EICRs are required every 10 years for homeowners and every 5 years for rental properties.
