How This Works

Bricks per m²: standard UK brick (65mm high, 10mm joint) = ~60 bricks/m² for a half-brick wall. Double that for a full-brick (double-skin) wall. Mortar: approximately 0.022 bags of pre-mixed mortar per brick for standard 10mm joints. A standard 25kg bag covers roughly 40-50 bricks.

A half-brick wall (single skin) is 102mm thick — one brick laid lengthways. Used for garden walls, internal partitions, non-loadbearing walls. A full-brick wall (double skin) is 215mm thick — two bricks wide with headers tying them together. Required for external loadbearing walls, garden walls over 1m tall, and any structural application. Always consult a structural engineer for loadbearing walls.
